A mushroom I found
I have never blogged before and I think I know how to do this but we will find out. Today upon entering my studio I was distracted by a surprise of nature. There they were, Mushrooms! Not the kind you eat of course, but the kind that were visually stunning to look at! I immediately plucked one carefully from the ground and went into my studio to place it on my scanner bed! Now you may think I am crazy, but I do this alot with different items I find that is visually attractive to me. I scan these objects and store the image files on my computer in hopes to use them later. What for? Well I use them to create digital art. I am fascinated that I can use an object (like a piece of nature) in a digital painting and give it an eternal life in the digitized world. I will be blogging often as I get started in a series of works that involve objects I have scanned. You can see some of my pieces with object scans on my digital art page. Flower Drills, Winged Metamorphose, Mind Over Matter
In Mind Over Matter I scanned my own Brain MRI and Back X-ray and incorporated them into a piece of digital art. I don't have any children so in a way, I can live eternally in the digitized world of art. I thought it was a Neat concept!
